Woman, 32, electrocuted in subway fall

A Germantown woman was electrocuted yesterday afternoon when she fell onto the third rail of the northbound SEPTA subway line after getting off at the Broad and Girard stop in North Philadelphia.
The woman, Selena M. Petty, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene by staff from the Medical Examiner's Office.
Petty apparently rode the subway south, exited about 1 p.m., then staggered over to the northbound side before falling onto the tracks. Service was cut off for about 90 minutes, according to SEPTA spokeswoman Jerri Williams. - Craig R. McCoy
