Unless the Cowboys (http://www.speakphilly.com/tags/show_tag/6) go deep into the playoffs, Wade Phillips is gone. Jones will have the most attractive job opening next offseason and look at these candidates: Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Mike Holmgren and Jon Gruden. They've all won at least one Super Bowl. Shanahan once replaced Phillips in Denver. He's the favorite to replace him in Dallas.

Anyone but Gruden would be fine. I doubt it if Dungy will return that quickly. I would even stay with Phillips one more year and then make a change. The only problem would be that those great coaches might be off the market.
Interesting....

Phillips is great on the defensive side of the ball.
Speaking of the D line...
As a football fan, the Eagles' Jim Johnson was a genius. Obviously, he is going to be missed on & off the field. I bet it had to cross soneone's mind in management at least once about letting Dawkins go now. Who is their leader on defense now? Losing Johnson & Dawkins is a huge void. I'd be worried if I were an Eagles fan.

Stewart Bradley will likely pickup thar role. I don't think anyone else on D has shown any kind of leadership.
