UPDATED: The Phillies (http://topics.philly.com/topic/Philadelphia_Phillies) announced that Kyle Kendrick (http://topics.philly.com/topic/Kyle_Kendrick) will start Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Blanton, on the disabled list for the first time in his career, has been sidelined since suffering a left oblique strain during spring training.
Blanton threw 67 pitches, walked one, and struck out two and allowed two home runs in five innings of a rehab assignment for Double A Reading on Wednesday.
The Phillies will have to make a roster move before the game. The most likely options are reliever Antonio Bastardo (http://topics.philly.com/topic/Antonio_Bastardo) or starter Kyle Kendrick, because the Phillies are still listing TBA for Wednesday night, which would be Kendrick's turn in the rotation.
